🍃 "Balcony" 🍃

As we sit against opposite edges of the balcony, heat slicks our skin in the harsh afternoon sun. Overgrown ferns shade the space between us. I search for my thoughts through the railing.

1) Last week, a bus barely missed my face on 23rd street.

It got me thinking about my other close calls -- being hit by a car, snuffed out by a pillow, jumping off rocks to impress girls.

Then I watched my little nephew on the playground...
