Episcopal Priest and member of the Anglican Order of Preachers living in Washington State. Sword fighting (HEMA) as a hobby, also hiking, mushrooms, TTRPGs, and occasionally bookbinding.
A little swords update. Working on my next steps to move up a skill level in HEMA, but also one of our church members gifted me a rapier! All is says is “SPAIN” on the blade. Tip is sharp but not blade. Decent flex. Handles well. Need to get some pumpkins on sale and give it a try. Maybe sharpen?

It'll be late this year, as I'll not finish today, but working my new Spirittide (what I'm calling. Michaelmas through All Souls) Cherubim Wreath! Got plenty of eyes to glue!

Last year it fell and broke. Yes, it was a fallen angel wreath. No comment.⚓

Me: I'll never get into Magic the Gathering. Already went through a 40K phase. Don't want to spend the money

WOTC: What if we make Ghostbusters cards?

Welp! Guess I'm doing this now!

Late Lammas Day this year but still observed! Little at home ritual in progress. Eventually I'll offer it to our Parish for use by the Domestic Church under our Christian Rituals for Home and Hearth formation ministry. Candle was made last Candlemas, but seemed appropriate close to Feast BVM.⚓

Learning to play MTG. I played Warhammer Fantasy and 40K years ago and that was enough of a money sink, so avoided Magic at the time. But we've got a budding group at the church getting interested apparently!

Why democracy is dying in two parts. Can I fact check the specific article referenced in the conspiratorial post by the Government? Nope! Truth is paywalled, conspiracy is free.

Yes, journalists should be paid. But common. A little reading the room to free a few things before the house burns down

St David of Wales a day late, but not forgotten!

Welsh Rarebit, sauteed leeks and cabbage, sausage, and mashed potatoes, with Welsh whiskey.

My wife bought some new art for me. Early Renaissance, I think. Raphael, or Pierro de la Francesca.

First wooden cover bookbinding project complete! I stained the cover and then etched the cross before using pyrography to outline. Binding is Coptic stitch.

Freshly grown Lion's Mane Mushroom! Sauteed. First small batch harvested to test. So far so good! My Blue Oysters are also growing well. Black Trumpet isn't though and not sure why.

2 of the 3 mushrooms are bursting forth! Blue Oyster and Lions Mane. Black Trumpet nothing at all, so will check on that later. Thinking the Fruiting Chambers are too small, but I'm a bit limited in room.
