I know a shameless leadership bid to please party members when I see one!

And I absolutely love D’You Know What I Mean? By Oasis. A song about the Gallagher brothers’ abusive father trying to reconnect with them. Soooo faux cor blimey.

Ernold Same by Blur or The Wild Ones by Suede

(If David Bowie had written Ernold Same we’d never hear the end of it from Alex)

3) New Labour… if he means it made indie music less edgy and cool for Guardian journalists then fair enough. But if he means the New Deal for Musicians was a disaster, or that politics should be completely divorced from popular culture then I’ve got a democracy in decline to sell him. 9/22

2) Oasis fans…. Apparently in Alex’s world this kind of stereotyping is OK. I don’t need to do a compare and contrast with different examples for you to realise how classist and problematic this is… in the Guardian of all places. 8/22

This is the first quote that got my goat.

No protest songs? I mean seriously. Immediately my mind turned to “Bring it on down” by Oasis. “You’re the outcast, you’re the underclass” Blimey Alex. Two seconds of engaging your brain could have done better. open.spotify.com/track/7tRRdL...

This landed on my desk this morning. And it’s great one. @rewearmouth.bsky.social and Tim Ross have got the story of Keir Starmer’s landslide. I was lucky enough to read some parts in draft and it’s a brilliant insight into just how mad elections can get. Highly recommended. amzn.eu/d/aYjEMQW

Today I'm running five ten mile loops (yes, 50 miles!) of Wendover Woods with the Centurion Runner end of season race. Hills and hills and relentless hills. Do pop by to say "hi" or "you're mad" if you’re local or want to message.
