The biggest argument in favor of Linux is the Windows Terms of Service. Microsoft collects an eye-watering amount of data on us, and the scope of that collection expands constantly.
Admittedly, there is a learning curve. Like learning to change oil, there will be frustration and muttered cursing.

I can listen to a podcast while doing housework or commuting, and if I zone out for a minute, I probably won’t miss anything important. Can’t say the same about an audiobook.

The primary customer base for AI stuff consists of governments, large corporations, and law enforcement. Normal people are the product. Our wants and needs unfortunately aren’t part of the equation.

MacBooks are overpriced. I say this as someone who recently bought one.
The screen, battery life, and trackpad are good, and I prefer Mac OS over Windows. But the keyboard is extremely disappointing.
