If you've been thinking about class, rebellions, and revolution--for any reason at all--may I suggest WE LIVED ON THE HORIZON? I promise it won't shatter you. But it may make you think about how you want to live in these times.

I read @erikaswyler.bsky.social’s book “We Lived on the Horizon” and really enjoyed it. It has cool worldbuilding, interesting characters (including a sapient AI), and thought-provoking discussion about wealth inequality. #booksky #scifi

Doctor: We’ve received your test results.
Me: Give it to me straight, Doc. How bad is it?
Doctor: The diagnosis says that you’re “Online.”
Me: Oh god.
Doctor: And I’m afraid it’s terminal.

Is there a SF/F book that focuses on sociological topics like “The Left Hand of Darkness,” has multiple POV characters, and was written in the last 10 years? If so, I desperately need to read it.

making characters and creative writing in general is so embarrassing because invariably all the characters i write end up at their core being built around the same insecurities and fears as i have 😔

Lemons are great because they’re consistent. No one ever says “oh no, these lemons are too sour.” You know what you’re getting, every time

This Day in Labor History: December 5, 1955. The American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations merged into the AFL-CIO. Let's talk about this rather uninspiring moment in our labor history and what it tells us about the impact of the Cold War on the labor movement!

Just sent my WIP fantasy novel to beta readers! Whispers of a Nation features a magic-powered radio station, sapphic romance, a shape-changing POV character, labor strikes, and excessive descriptions of food. #writing #fantasy #writingcommunity

TFW you're editing a particularly harrowing chapter and you feel guilty for the horrors you're putting your characters through. This is a universal writer experience, right?

Writing Tip:
I can never repeat enough that all writers should have a saved copy of their work that isn't on the web/cloud. As safe as you think it might be, outages happen. Technology can glitch. The last thing you want is to lose months of work. Back it up!

Tag yourself with the job you’d actually have in the Star Wars universe given your occupation.

“Have you tried turning the hyperdrive off and on again? Well, are your fuel cells plugged in?”
Tag yourself with the job you’d actually have in the Star Wars universe given your occupation.

The same one, I think, but monumentally harder. It's bad enough learning medicine for commonly kept Earth species, now I need to learn how to treat alien ones???

Writer of inexplicably popular holo-novels, often about a woman and her droid who inherit an ancient freighter and discover it is haunted. Sideline in Jedi romances, which are banned on Coruscant.
