Thank you! The birch was collected on some friends' property in Wisconsin, who were also kind enough to assemble it for us. It was a lovely show of community.
In general I was very pleased with the impeccable fantasy vibes we pulled off for a fairly low-budget wedding.

Genuinely though. Not only did I meet my now-wife thanks to social media, but my internet friendships are a huge part of why I am here today. I am so grateful.

I was admittedly inclined to be endeared to him because he'd chosen to do a project on the history of the ADA, but that combined with his utter delight over reading microfiche ("This is so cool! How do they even make these?") was a real "The kids are alright" moment for me.

I worked as a National History Day mentor with MNHS the last couple years, teaching kids how to do historical research, and I still remember showing this one middle schooler how to use the university's microfiche machine. It blew his mind, he thought it was the coolest thing.
