Very enthusiastic, very trans. Interested the history of science, monsters, gender, and disability. Affiliate researcher with the University of Minnesota Center for Premodern Studies.
Utterly charmed by this annotation someone added to a 1658 copy of Edward Topsell's The History of Four-Footed Beasts and Serpents

In case you cannot read it, someone has added "help help or I shall be eaten to pieces by this devouring creature"

You could say that, yeah.

Well past sunset tonight (I was exhausted from running errands all day), but this year's honey cakes were still a success. I even left them in the oven a bit long and they are still delicious.

Shanah tovah, and may 5786 be kinder to us all.

Farmer's market haul from today has me whooping and hollering. Fall is so close.

Still have to install hardware, but otherwise I have successfully completed sewing Marty McFly's jacket for DraconCon!! (And just in time, too)

Pictured: The exact amount of fabric I had left after cutting the sleeve linings for my next costume. Really cut this one close.

(And if you can guess the costume just from the pattern here, you have some serious nerd cred!)

Starting a challenge with myself to see what the funniest cosplay I can donate blood in at a convention blood drive is. So far I think Palamedes Sextus is the best one.

During this year's parade, a young teen called me over and presented me with a giant handmade Owl House-themed bracelet they had made and brought to Pride. And I'm going to be honest, I just about cried on the spot. I hope these kids know how many of us are ready to fight for their happiness.

It's hard to put into words just how difficult and winding my undergraduate experience has been, but I'm going to try anyways. I never would have expected it would take 10 years at 3 schools, but I'm unbelievably grateful to everyone that helped me along the way. And proud! I actually did it!

Reflecting on the double-edged nature of visibility this TDoV.

On the one hand, the trans community has become dangerously hypervisible. In 2025, visibility is scary. But on the other, it's so easy for me to think of a certain little girl, who didn't understand why being one made her uncomfortable

And now for something completely different -- the start of a BttF inspired cosplay-meets-vintage-fashion project, in which I attempt to recreate some of Marty's 1950s looks for daily wear.

Was very excited I managed to track down a vintage pattern in my tiny transmasc size!

Discovered an absolutely fascinating fabric at the local deadstock outlet today. Sparkle tweed.

9 - My elementary school in Colorado had a Shakespeare club, where I got to play Puck, Hamlet, and Macduff in abridged versions of the plays.

I still think this photo of me acting my 12 year-old heart out as Hamlet is one of the funniest photos ever taken of me.
