When working on improving accessibility on Crusader Kings III, "Nested Tooltips" was one of the key features the team had very high expectations on. Seems like they might have spent some time in the same bars as @greenheartgames.bsky.social !

Our landlord added new art inside the shared toilets in the office building and well… it hits a little close to home sometimes.

Finished #Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. Took me forever to get past the prologue, but then I couldn’t put it down. A deep and well-balanced cRPG. Very well done @owlcatgames.bsky.social

I might go back and play some more of these Pathfinder games now…

Finished reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It was incredibly beautiful, poetic and sad. Also very much a recommended read for our times.

Read it #Booksky

No war relics allowed on the train between Paris and London. Nope. Don’t even think of bringing that shell of yours. The answer is no.

Steam started as a Half-Life launcher. Eventually, it was really a Civilization launcher.

Came home to these bad boys waiting for me. Thanks @devteamlife.com !

Ad campaign in France right now. It reads « Turn off your phone. Turn on your brain. Read. »

First go at Rematch. The comparisons with Rocket League are obvious, but it reminds me so very much of League of Legends. Gave me the same sensations, the same « one more match » feel, and also the same frustrations.

Well done Soclap and @kepler-interactive.bsky.social, this one will go very far.

While everyone has been talking about Andor, I just finished watching Daredevil: Born Again, and damn… that was very good.

Probably the best I’ve seen from Marvel Studios in a very long time.

Watch it ! Also… more please ?

Recently I've been enjoying Symphony of War from Dancing Dragon Games and @join-indie-io.bsky.social, which rewards players for taking prisoners rather than killing your enemies via a surrender system.

Rewarding players for not killing enemies in a strategy game ? Why isn't this more widespread ?

Thunderbolts was nice and somewhat different. It quickly brushes past its most genius moments and thus doesn’t live up to its full potential, but it’s well worth watching.

Still doesn’t tell me where the MCU is heading or if there’s any coherence left in the whole thing though.

I think… the Yakuza community asked for a Majima-focused game for years. Now we’ve had one and it was great, so all we really want is… another Majima game I guess ?
April 27, 2025 at 8:22 PM
Finished « Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii » and loved every bit of it.

So long as you’re capable of suspension of disbelief, just like for all Yakuza games, this is pure crazy escapist fun.

Also, Majima is such a damn poser. Play it !

Well done once more @sega-west.bsky.social

I picked up « Red Seas under Red Sky » just because it’s the sequel to « The Lies of Locke Lamora » and because I’m listening to it in audio format, I didn’t really pay attention to the cover and didn’t realize what I was getting into… now looking at it again, I should have know 😅

Through no conscious effort of mine, I find myself playing Pirate Yakuza at the same time as I’m reading Red Seas under Red Skies, Locke Lamora’s pirate-ish novel.

In short, my free time is very piratey these days, and I’m into it.

Not even two hours in and Pirate Yakuza is pretty much what you’d expect from a game centered on Majima: insane. I love it.
April 6, 2025 at 8:36 PM
After over 60 hours of exploration and adventure, I finished Avowed. There is a lot to love in this game. Well done @obsidian.net

Here’s another one for #BookSky: « This is how you lose the Time War » was a wonderful read, poetic and surprising and impactful.

Read it.

Finished "The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry" by Gabrielle Zevin. A book about books, and love, and the love of books. It was incredibly moving.

Read it.

Finished reading "Doom Guy" by @johnromero.bsky.social. Felt like a very deep dive into how games were made back in the 80's and 90's for the most part, showing that even though game dev has changed a lot since then... much is also the same to this day.
January 17, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Game devs, post your first shipped game and your latest shipped game.
December 15, 2024 at 10:21 AM
Finished « Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow » by Gabrielle Zevin, a novel about people and relationships on a backdrop of game development.

The dev process is quite (very) romanticized, but it was still a good read. I wish MMO’s were as easy to build in reality as they are in the book…

Read it!

Are we doing those again ? So hard to pick 4... but I guess here it is: Four games I worked on and that were very special to me.
