I join the nation in mourning the loss of President Jimmy Carter. His lifelong dedication to public service, from the U.S. Navy to the White House to Habitat for Humanity to the Carter Center, was the outward manifestation of his kind, committed and honorable soul.

We should all want to live in a society that would never ban books. To that end, we must read as well as write more books which so stir and shock people's thought-emotions such that the far-right would either ban these new books too – or permanently change their worldview.

If you as a parent do not want your child to read about something, that is your job as a parent to oversee their reading. It should absolutely not affect what children who are not yours are reading.
