omg. "nope I have this prize, not for you" 🤣

(Tallie tries being a womble sometimes but is so food obsessed that she would have dropped the slipper and snarfed the bacon in a microsecond. small blessings.)

Probably also a rough collie problem, they also have the huge ruff! It looks so pretty & it's so nice to bury your face in when you snuggle them but it makes some stuff a bit problematic 😂

Just a bit 😩

it had been healing great, until last night when she freed herself from the cone and licked it for hours 🤬

Steve! 😂 She whole heartedly agrees with you. The stitches come out Monday, we just have to make it to then!
November 20, 2025 at 2:29 PM
yeah, we tried donuts after her spay and she got out of every single one. 😂

Very large ruff. Very large cone. Very smol doggo under there. Wish us luck tonight.

🫣😱

unfortunately.... she is all fur, and given enough determination, she can essentially back out of the entire contraption and get it over her head. 😱

We (had) gotten the best results with a harness with a front and back leash attachment point.
1. thread ribbon through front loop
2. pull it up, and thread it through the loops on the bottom of the cone, meeting at the back of the neck
3. tie off on back leash attachment point

Oh yeah, our vet is well aware. When she got spayed, even super drugged up, she kept escaping while recovering at the vet, so the techs had to try to jury rig a lashing system with strips of gauze to keep her cone on by attaching it to her harness. So yeah, they know....

Did these lawyers ever even take crim pro? Like, I do admin law, and I know this! 🤯
November 19, 2025 at 5:50 PM
(the answer to "how" largely boils down to: not much dog under all that fur, which does compress; and she is unbelievably stubborn and determined and far too smart. 😒)

Agree, it's way too much work to deal with two. Sorry, you get cyber and shelties and reading and sometimes sewing and then just random Seattle stuff here. 😅

😂 😂 it just keeps growing! sooo much floof.
November 18, 2025 at 2:45 AM
oh yeah, those are PRIME reading days! my husband is an airline pilot & works holidays so it's just Tallie & me camped out on the sofa reading. bliss. 📚

yes, Cat is an essential element of bodega!

her harness does such weird things to her ruff! unfortunately her ruff is soooooo thick that collars, even martingale ones, are useless; they just slide over her head, so it has to be a harness for walks.
