Something is very wrong with the spiders of Sheffield. The Doctor and friends investigate.
They're currently doing the "Doctor Who spin-offs don't work" thing ignoring the two extremely popular spin-offs that worked without the Doctor plus Big Finish does loads of non-Doctor spin-offs that work just fine, spin-offs do work, just this one maybe is a misstep, we'll see.

Revealing the next Doctor at the heart of the home production hub will solidify symbolically that Doctor Who is returning to Britain fully and is staying put, a Doctor's never been revealed in Wales. It's certainly an RTD way of spin and promotion.

I mean when Sarah Jane Adventures defeats the evil clown using jokes I mean, it's a kid's show, whatever, but not only is there an actual climax in the book but the climax used in the film is a multi-million dollar studio production... and THAT's how you beat the bad guy?

And that is just my interpretation of events, you can say Hartnell's entire run is the Doctor's coming of age which is correct but also not what the genre really is. I guess Ace as well? But no story focusing on it entirely, she's already of age in Survival and that's the point, it's a slow build.

I can literally watch Daniel Craig solve crimes every day, give me 100 of these. Johnson is also one of the only filmmakers to understand that a large ensemble cast is not just there for the sake of it, it's about vibes and feel.

I love that King used the Bachman pseudonym to hide his identity then goes "yeah they went to Derry Maine, did I mention this book is set in Maine" in every Bachman book.

As for the inverse, and in keeping with the Stephen King theme, Christine and Carrie are both better than the book, and I tried reading the American Psycho book but it’s unreadable gibberish so I guess I can include that in the “film was better” category.

Also this seems to be quite popular in Britain if my screening is any indication, a combination of Wright being well known as a British filmmaker and the 1987 film not really being a thing here so there’s no comparisons.

Can’t believe they made Stephen King woke, SMH.

To be honest whilst I'm sure it'll be a fun audio adventure I'm glad the script wasn't made for TV as the "historical romp" was already getting a bit tired by that point and Pompeii stands out with its emotional heft and pathos, glad we got that instead.

"There's a superhero who I won't ask to basically take over defending Earth whilst I take the Vault somewhere safe and secluded oh and good luck teenagers I'm a train ride away from it's not like I'm busy or anything" extremely funny.

Studios complain about audiences not showing up but either don't release anything or overstuff. Good release strategies would solve their woes.
