Sometimes you’re not taking a stand in the way you think you are. Sometimes you’re not being helpful. Sometimes you really are just being an asshole.

And I won’t even get into the fact that Adriana probably wouldn’t have died in the first place if her providers would have taken her headaches seriously instead of casting her off like so many other women of color seeking care. Women’s healthcare is so, so broken.

I fully support public assistance programs (and generally think there should actually be more), but what I don’t support is a fake feminist who lies to garner sympathy and take away benefits from those who actually need them
