It amazes even me the stuff I keep hold of sometimes. Had a BIG WIN this morning and found this beauty at the bottom of a box of old comics!! Ladies and gentlemen, for your viewing pleasure….

…the 1981 Millets Camping List!!

Big bargain offers in Sleeping Bags?!?

To be effective, an assassin must be invisible as well as deadly, hiding behind the most innocent disguise. A bowl of beef ramen metamorphoses into a fearsome ninja; an apparently harmless can of tea becomes a sword-wielding samurai of death.

With Lunchbots, each meal may be your last…!!!

Hope you don’t mind the reply, Harsha. Just wondered if you’d seen Westbourne magazine this month? I went to 2 of the public consultation meetings & signed the petition. Sadly the surgery was allegedly sold off way back in 2024 to a company owned by 2 doctors at Emsworth. I’m totally dumbfounded.

Watched ‘She Killed in Ecstasy’ by Jess Franco last night and have become more than a little obsessed by the house in the opening scene. Love the fact it still exists today too and remains untouched.

Late night movie watch…

Fresh Crisp Apples:
Vincent Price!

(Not quite the opening scene I was expecting!!)

It was amazing, Pete. You would have loved it. I still actually have one of the postcards I picked up from the gift shop at the time. The exhibition was in the Pompidou Centre probably about 1986/87ish.

Suddenly reminded this morning of that time 10 years ago when I spent a whole year dicking around in the creative mode in Minecraft!! The ‘’Welchcraft’ block even had its own front door, candles, a toilet & permanent portal to the Nether!! And people say I don’t know how to party.

RIP Robert Redford.

Did this illustration back in 2010 for a local cinema event.

Robert left us with so many great movies. For me it’s Three Days of the Condor, All The Presidents Men, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid plus I also have real soft spot for Sneakers (which no one seems to remember!!)

Still marvelling over this recent find in a local bookshop. A huge collection of old sci-fi paperbacks all with stickers from 2 of my favourite London comic shops of the past. So great to see stickers for Forbidden Planet (Denmark Street) & Dark They Were and Golden Eyed out in the wild once more.

This is a rather nice find. Searching through one of my Whole Earth Catalogues is an original advert for the 1st edition paperback version of Frank Herbert’s book, Dune. I wonder if I send off the $1.25 they’ll still honour the order? Worth a bit more than that these days methinks. 😂

Another moment when the world casually reminds you that you’re literally living in the matrix now..!!

Just verifying my age.

The Bejam badge should be worthy of age verification alone!! Now where are those ice pops?

It must have been a good day for charity hunting, Paul. I found this beauty in one in Emsworth today. Why do all these places favour that £15 price tag? I also left without a purchase sadly.

Love this! I’ve always loved old comics especially all the crazy adverts. This beauty is for Genuine Soil From Dracula’s Castle from an old Warren comic. However, thanks to the net, I can now look up what things like this actually looked like. Think the certificate is worth price of admission alone.

Autumn Leaves

Took these in 2022 for reference purposes but like the way they came out. Just used a simple flip filter to create the symmetrical effect.

Had a strange dream last night that I looked out the window and saw my neighbours quietly trying to mow their lawn in the dark. Sounds absolutely ridiculous I know but it genuinely terrified me so much that I couldn’t get back to sleep for over an hour!! 😱

Wow! Absolute barnstormer of a set at Glastonbury. Gary Numan absolutely knocked it out ‘The Park’. Bloody brilliant!

Random charity shop pick up. Very rarely see Archie comics in the UK. In all my years of collecting comics, despite always hearing about it, I don’t think I’ve ever actually read one. Not sure what to expect. Always thought Love & Rockets meets Happy Days maybe? Anyone else ever read them? #booksky

Awesome. Gonna have to track some Joan Fleming down on the basis of these. They look great. Currently reading The Sittaford Mystery by Christie that also has a suitably bizarre but brilliantly disturbing Adams cover.
