F2 are celebrating birthdays this week so we decided to make some jam sandwiches! The children took their time to spread the butter and jam and cut the bread into quarters shaped like a triangle! They were delicious! 😋#EYFSatWelbeck

Inspired by their electricity topic, Year 3 orally retold a story called ‘Blackout’. We made sure to project our voices loud, clear and with expression, while adding extra detail using powerful adjectives and adverbs we gathered together as a class.

In Year 3 science club, we looked up at the stars and discovered why we can only see them at night. We made our own constellations using cups, then shone a torch though to see how they glow in the dark.

Year 3 explored why Jesus’ death might be important to Christians because of what happened at and after the Last Supper. We put ourselves in the shoes of Jesus, Judas and the other disciples. We discussed why we thought Jesus didn’t run away and what we would do in that situation.

Year 3 have been learning to recognise conductors & insulators. We worked together to set up a comparative test with circuits and a range of materials. 🪵🥄 We observed and recorded which materials allowed electricity to pass through and light the bulb.💡 Our predictions were spot on!

Year 3 enjoyed getting hands on again with electrical equipment! We made predictions about whether different circuits would make a bulb light using scientific vocabulary to explain our reasoning. Finally, we put these predictions to the test by making the circuits ourselves. 💡
