The people, the competition, the cars. I’ve met the best people in motorsports. The personalities make it fun.

Easily 100s. Every event at MIS for decades, 40+ 500s, both races at Milwaukee for decades, almost every Detroit GP, Road America, Denver GP, Nazareth, Fontana to name a few.

Easily 100s. Every event at MIS for decades, 40+ 500s, both races at Milwaukee for decades, almost every Detroit GP, Road America, Denver GP, Nazareth, Fontana to name a few.
IMSA, F1, some NASCAR. I enjoy the ladder series, MPC, short track cars like midgets and sprint cars.

My favorite meeting was at an ALMS event at Road America- de Ferran and Pagenaud were codrivers and during the autograph session there were long lines at every transporter except theirs. Gil was a 500 winner - we had a nice private conversation with both of them for 5-10 minutes before others.

Tough answer. Proximity is Chicagoland. Next would be Milwaukee and Road America.

Probably Michigan. Went to every race there from 73 thru the 80s and then as often as practical later. Loved the racing and the view from our seats. IMS is my current favorite with Road America right up there. Cannot beat the environment of RA.

Johnny Rutherford - always the gentleman - autographed my Qualifying Ticket back in the 70s and took a nice photo with my daughter in the 2000s - same guy. Great racer.
