Endording punishment of all pedophiles in authority takes the partisanship arrow out of their quiver.

Saying, "They should all be held accountable, starting at the top" doesn't vindicate Trump, and it sends the message that we're not interested in redirection or a defensive crouch.

Speaking as a writer, there *is* a way to do commentary about it.

But it illustrates the difference between parody and satire: parody catches the subject and lets them go; satire shoots to kill.

If the tone isn't scathing, it's not doing enough. We need to take him apart. But no, we're jesting.

That's what you deserve for being a jerk in Consulting Detective, Sherlock!

Did it also come with a booklet Holmes wrote to brag about how implausibly few moves it took him to solve it?

My first reaction was "What's wrong with recommending everything?"

Then my second reaction was "Is it okay to recommend everything?"

Sorry to alarm.

Can you learn something from anything you read? Can you have empty reading calories?

Not sure. I want to open up the window and hug the world, but I don't want to catch pneumonia, you see.

Maybe some stuff just has to be handled like radioactive material, but it can be instructive?

The guy who wrote that tweet streaks around subway tunnels, flashing passengers with his tiny dick, smearing feces on the wall, and shouting, "I am the Muad Dib of useless fucks!"

Capitalism is good.

Also, government should protect us from the free market.

Oh, I love free association to a fault. I'll entertain misspellings and malapropisms to the unintended embarrassment of the speaker because I love exploring new sounds and "bad" ideas.

But my issue is, as you mention, compliance.

What's the cutoff number of revisions for you, on average?

Yes. I'd counter that we then have an obligation to make warmth and kindness where there is none because it's an infinitely precious resource, but yes.

Why do publishers feel like they have the right to brainstorm/brainvomit in the room rather than perform the minimal amount of mental work to filter such ideas out?

They probably do it with their superiors all the time.
