This asshole is causing me so much grief. He's supposed to fold up into a 3 by 3 by 3 cube. It's not easy. In fact it's provably impossible, under what seemed like a reasonable assumption: all joints connect face to face at a 1 by 1 square. But even understanding that trick I'm struggling.
Green alien made out of wooden cubes connected by elastic string. He looks confident, regal and a bit sinister. He's about 15cm tall and sitting on a couple of bottles of ink. The alien contorted... His legs and torso form part of a 3 by 3 cube, but his head and arms are splayed out, unable to fold into the remaining space. Below a notebook has diagrams and notes about his puzzle. It uses a checkerboard colouring argument, only partially explained. We see notes that the checkered 3 by 3 cube has 27 cubes, 14 white and 13 black. We see a shaded in cubed skeleton which has 13.5 white cubes and 13.5 black, because the feet are 1 by 1 by 1.5. "The first problem to solve is that the feet have dimensions 1 by 1 by 1.5, but if we apply a checkerboard colouring we can see we'll never get them to meet toe to toe." "In fact, one heel and one two are grid aligned 1 by 1 by 1 boxes, each having a smaller 1 by 1 by 0.5 partner." "By counting black and white cubes, we can reason that the symmetry breaking feet must be positioned along either an edge or through the core of the 3 by 3 by 3 cube."

Potatoes were satisfactory. Everyone was fed.

I got home too late to receive instructions because everyone had gone to bed, and the potatoes have to be roasted by 2pm tomorrow while causing as little disruption in the kitchen at possible, so I just boiled every potato in the house and now I have Fears.
Peeled potatoes submerged in an orange bowl, potato peelings and a ripped-open bag of more unpeeled potatoes. We're seeing them on a busy kitchen table, with stacked china bowls and other bits and bobs. A huge orange bowl container raw peeled and sliced potatoes. The same orange bowl full of fluffy boiled potatoes. They're pretty crumbly on the top but they can still be distinguished as separate entities. Mostly.

I only ever dabbled, but I do have the dictionary to hand, so I can show you its suggestions. Higher numbers (up to 5) indicate more people surveyed independently used that phrasing.

It was a perfect fit! It has quite a lip on the outside (hence the dimensions sounding too large) but fits snugly in the hole.
The diffuser, installed in the cooker hood, illuminated. It's gently domed and coarsely frosted. It says "max 28W" in the middle. It fits perfectly. The diffuser lying face down on a countertop, next to a steel rule. It's slightly over 180mm long, of which a few mm are the outer lip. Measuring the lozenge-shaped hole in the cooker hood. It's exactly 180mm by 60mm, made from stamped steel with a thin inward lip.

Okay I cleaned the cooker hood and replaced the disgusting used grease filter and the airflow is kinda miserable still. I'm wondering... is there supposed to be a diffuser lens over the bulb? How might I replace that? Can I cut a generic one down to size?

You can see from a label inside it's a Proline H600W. There's a carbon filter installed. You can see the grease filter (a layer of white fibrous paper with grey stripes, attached to the panel on the underside of the hood) has been replaced today. The lozenge shaped hole for the light can be seen from the inside. It has tabs protruding on each end which might hold a lens in place.

Before all that it was... even worse. I have dozens of old scenes for Celeste, Baba is You, Wargroove, Pixeljunk Monsters, Myst... and every one is a copy and paste of the last. They do have such a cute test card though when the game isn't loaded. I should bring that back.

I don't think I'm using it as intended. At some point I refactored the games into a subscene, which has the HDMI capture and a stack of two dozen different window captures. But it allows me to do the cute glass reflection thing. Down there...
Down there... Annette (in camera overlay) pointing to the reflection at the bottom of the came screen. The bottom left of the game screen is a couple of centimetres above the bottom of the canvas, and below it is a transparent reflection of itself, as though it's standing upright on a glass plate.

What do people use to make OBS nice to use? I feel like my setup is... all glue and string. Macros to show or hide Inkscape when it has focus, and swap in the camera stand-in. I kinda wish I could hide the guts and just have a console with a few buttons to select or enable the right stuff.

I liked Seth. I kinda wish I could fight him again less dishonourably. (Although let's be honest, I did that for hours and he kicked my ass.) I love the music in this fight, the vibes are kinda Undyne-like, marking him the true but tragic hero. Does that mean I get to date him later?
