„That was a nice evening." Olivia smiles at Elliot as they arrive at her car. He's taken her out for dinner on what she assumes is a date - they haven't really discussed it. He leans against her car now and grins. „I agree. We should do this again sometime soon." „Yeah. So..." There's a moment of awkward silence while neither of them know what to say. He leans in to kiss her cheek and Olivia chuckles. „Really El? You're not going to kiss me properly?" He blushes slightly. „Uh I wasn't sure... „Shut up and kiss me." And he does.

"If I could, I'd stay in the warmest place of all forever. But we need to sell the goods now, and fetch supplies from Inverness besides." "And dinna fash, Mam," says a sleepy voice as Bree sits up in their bed. "Da'll have this." Coming over, she presents the blanket he'd wrapped her in newly born. "Aye, this'll keep me perfectly warm," Jamie says, rough-voiced, and cuddles her between them.

Bernie’s funeral. The day Eli graduated and took the oath. It's not a surprise, seeing him cry today. Maybe the real surprise is how long he held out. She saw his lips tremble a little. She heard him try to hide a sniff or two. But there aren't any tears until they get to the end. “I, Elliot, take you Olivia—” He has to stop. He laughs, shakes his head, takes a breath. Starts again.

Elliot hadn’t noticed when the space between his thoughts of her began to grow, how they’d faded from a mantra to an intrusion: whenever he explained his employment history, whenever someone mentioned New York, the first time he opened the balcony doors in his Roman apartment, the first time he met Tia. The first time Tia flirted with him, her name came to mind. Not his wife’s. It’d been weeks, though. He doesn’t remember the last time he thought of her. He hasn’t heard her voice in nine years. He’s staring down the loaded barrel of a mafioso’s gun. Olivia.

I couldn’t help but notice the juxtaposition between 7x11 and 7x15…and now you will all suffer with me because I hurt my own feelings
Jamie’s heart crumbles at the desperation in Claire’s eyes as Doctor Leckie leaves, then soars with hope as she pleads for Denny. He stands back in awe as she tells him where the bullet is, instructs him to make penicillin… She’s telling him how to save her. He remembers being assaulted with violent, sickening images of her corpse when she’d wrenched his heart with that confession: when she’d thought him dead, she’d craved death and nearly sought it out. But now… She wants to live so badly. He cannot fathom that after everything, that image could still come to pass.

She leaves the bathroom door unlocked, the scent of her lavender candle wafting down the hall. When he opens the door, Olivia is submerged up to her neck. Hair piled up, ringlets at the nape; her eyes don’t even open at the soft click of the door’s release. Elliot waits. One eye opens, narrowly directed at him. He tilts his head at the candle; CALMING emblazoned in bold on the side. “This working at all?” Elliot watches as she pretends to consider; as she makes the decision. He’s already unbuckling his pants by the time she starts shaking her head.

Scornfully, Bree says, "I dinna listen to fools, and that's what ye are. My auntie Jenny helps run the estate, and my mam's a healer." "Aye, Auntie Claire helped birth you," Kitty laughs, and they both continue home proud and sure in the possibility of their futures.

Sitting on the couch with her legs tucked underneath her, she stares at the wine glass on the table in front of her. She'd poured the drink while standing in the kitchen after checking on her son, thoughts still frozen on the way she'd almost offered herself up in exchange for Carisi. For a moment she'd forgotten herself. For a moment she'd forgotten that she was all her son had. For a moment, she'd done what she always does and thought instead of everyone else. It's another thing she's going to have to unpack in therapy… one day.

They bear the scars of a hundred overreactions, proof that sometimes he feels faster than he thinks. Olivia has watched his hands hammer out a hasty report in the small hours of morning, she’s watched them push a scumbag up against the wall of a dark alley, and she’s watched them cradle the impossibly soft head of a newborn. She’s put her life in his hands. Tonight, she puts her heart there. Her body. Her pleasure. His hands love her, too.

Robin pointed down the street. “The subway is this way.” “Is your place far from here?” she asked, biting her lip. “It’s a few blocks away,” he replied. “Walkable but faster by train.” She looked up at the elevated track over their heads before asking: “Can we walk? I want to enjoy this warm night.” He nodded, wanting to make her last night here as special as possible. “Okay. Let’s walk.”
