We're not initiating advisories for #08W (JTWC label) at this time:

- ASCAT pass shows no closed circulation
- Motion is ~60 km/h, atypical of tropical cyclones
- JMA does not mark it as a low in their latest surface chart

Tropical storm #Nari continues weakening as it nears a landfall over Hokkaido. It's likely begun, or is actively undergoing, extratropical transition, where its core weakens and begins interacting with colder air, forming wide, uneven bands of wind and rain. TAKE ACTION.
