"I have a decent fluency in LLMs, and they have utility, but the absurd degree of over-hype, the way they're being forced on everyone, and the insistence on ignoring the many valid critiques about them make it very difficult to focus on legitimate uses where they might add value."

All of those are things I’ve found myself missing when working with other type systems.

- union types in general
- util types
- the strong type inference system
- automatic and custom type guards
- string and template literals just being magic
- how easy it is to ignore the type system when it’s inconvenient

Typescript is under-appreciated in how good it is. Every time I go to another typed language I always find myself missing typescript features.

I’ve never seen so much expression on your character before! This one floored me. Please more experimentation in this direction!

Interesting! Maybe try recording your voice on your phone and then playing it back while hitting the piano key?

That said atproto and Bluesky itself won’t be able to stop authoritarian moderation if the government allows and enforces it.

The positive of atproto is that in a theoretical authoritarian state, the outside world could still document and report on things prior to them being taken down.
