Out of curiosity, I got another SMB2J disk I had in my collection and it's got a different MFR date than my other disk haha.

Looking at the FDS Lot Check Leak, it seems Nintendo imaged their master disks in 2007 judging by the dates on the images and photos of the labels, so the dump designed for the Wii VC emulator seemingly predates the imaging of all master disks.

Pretty interesting observation with comparing some FDS images of SMB2J and I noticed that the headers between the Virtual Console release and a dump online is exactly the same. I find this funny cause this is slightly more credible to the myth of "Nintendo downloaded files and repackaged them".

SMB3 is almost fully functional in the SMC Practice Hack! There are still a few things to do, but most of it is there and usable. Massive thanks to @simplistic6502.bsky.social for helping out with some of the more challenging parts of porting over the NES practice ROM code to SNES.

I've been gaining interest in developing test ROMs for the MMC5 mapper chip. I've experimented recently with seeing how certain emulators handle PRG-RAM from $8000-$DFFF.

Just converted Doki Doki Panic from an FDS image to a NES ROM. This works by using the MMC5 mapper's ability to map PRG-RAM from $6000-$DFFF. Saving works too which is incredibly awesome!
I've attached a video of the ROM working on the NES core for MiSTer.

For context, the Kaiser release does not produce an error message after beating 8-4, it takes you straight into 9-1 (even if you haven't completed 8 castle stages)

Can anyone with the old RetroUSB/RetroZone's SMB2J reproduction confirm this is what happens for them after completing 8-4? I believe this release uses a hacked version of Kaiser's SMB2J port from 1988?

2J 8-4 IL has been an interesting grind that I am somewhat enjoying, though right now I am at the point where I can only really comfortably save a frame at a time as my PB is 55.675 (www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRYh...). Currently trying to implement TAS bar skip in runs with a moderate level of success

Got 2:32.699 in Minus World Ending, removed the flagpole glitch that I did in my 832 and just decided to save time with -3 clip.
