I've said this privately but I want to say it for the topic of discussion. I think 7:55 in SMB2J any% is easier than 4:56 SMB1.
The only reason people don't go for it is they don't learn about movement and have an expectation that 2J is the one brutally hard Mario game, or they find it rly boring.

Pretty interesting observation with comparing some FDS images of SMB2J and I noticed that the headers between the Virtual Console release and a dump online is exactly the same. I find this funny cause this is slightly more credible to the myth of "Nintendo downloaded files and repackaged them".
