Despite having a role in multiple ongoing projects and the repeated reassurances from my boss to the contrary, I always assume that I am one small incident away from having the plug pulled on my long-term employment.

Today is very much a "This fake API provides dummy endpoints to keep components working in offline tests; let's give it the ability to store and modify data to simulate the original API far beyond its scope" kind of day.

It was so eggy of me that I gravitated to this one long before I transitioned. But also it's just such a dismal scenario. "If you face harassment our HR policy is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ be nice"

Then again that was the message of every scenario. The harshest consequences came from that joke in the intro.

Third scenario: Oh joy here it is! The enby transfem with nearly no support from their department. HR involved only in the announcement of their transition, absolutely no resolution. Like fucking what, one guy straight up makes sexist remarks and it's brushed off like it's just a one-off thing.

Second scenario: Client engaging in sexual harassment. HR involved because witness to harassment complained of the harassment victim's poor performance. Resolution focuses heavily on addressing issue to improve victim's work performance. Client made to apologize. Witness reprimanded. WTF

Looks like they cut most of the modules. I remember they reworked the training last year but I swear they had more than this.

First scenario: hostile work environment for lesbian seeking IVF. HR not involved, no resolution.

That's unfair, they should let you take pics of cool secret stuff if your heart is pure.

The following section is just a dull reading of definitions, but it makes it pretty clear that the previous skit does not rise to the level of a "severe and pervasive" hostile work environment that would actually meet the definition of unlawful harassment.

Like I'm not going to say there's nothing to object over, but I've done this training multiple times and the actual harassment scenarios do not have this sort of "how fucking dare you" energy.

It's hard to put to words in this format, but the whole program just feels... weird about this stuff.

Already off to a great start: A group of racially-diverse women are cracking jokes, one one tells an off-color joke about women and it's up to the old white man to reprimand them for devaluing his daughter.

No mediation, just straight to HR for them all for a "the good ones are always taken" joke.
