You know what makes it super easy?

The best kitchen knife ever!

From The Ulu Factory, owned and operated by native Alaskans. Slicing and dicing is a breeze. Fun to use, fun to say, and mine even has puffins! (I had them engrave "The Porgs Strike Back" on the back.)

Alaskan ulu knife has an 8 inch long crescent shaped blade with a handle on top of the blade. It comes with a wooden cutting board with a bowl-shaped indentation that matches the curve of the blade. Just rock the blade back and forth with a twist of the wrist and the full length of the blade reaches the bottom of the bowl. The bowl also serves to keep cut pieces from skittering away. If you need to cut something tough, you can press directly down on the handle with your entire forearm and it's right in line with the blade. To get stuff out, the blade also perfectly scrapes the bottom of the bowl because of the matching curve. With your fist wrapped around the handle, it also works as a wicked brass knuckle.

Work in progress. But proof of concept is a good start. I'll figure out how to better place the butterflies. (They look good with the LEDs off, too, and you can set the LEDs to blink.) I've got a larger bowtie on the way, so I'll see how that looks. But I think she'll love it.

Woke up to dramatic twilight.

But it always strikes me how different the light is. These two pictures were taken at the same time in the same room.

#disabled #spoonie friends, I have a question. A friend wants me to be one of her groomsmen. I use a rollator. Any idea how to spiff it up for a wedding? I'm thinking maybe a bowtie around the front bar? I don't think I want flowers. LEDs might be too distracting? Any suggestions?
