📢 North Carolina ranks 43rd in the nation for teacher pay, and lawmakers still haven’t passed a state budget. Instead of rushing to redraw congressional maps this Monday, they should be focused on fully funding our public schools.

A new biennial budget was due to take effect on July 1, but disagreements between the Senate and House have left the state without one. As a result, state employees—including educators—have received no pay increases, even as the cost of living and health plan premiums continue to rise.
