@heroforgeminis.bsky.social One character, four versions - the shaman and necromancer Heart-in-the-Clouds as she was in her mortal life, as the ghost you first encounter, as the useful spirit companion her quest unlocks, and as the boss you have to beat to get there.
The raptor shaman and necromancer Heart-in-the-Clouds as she was in life. She is predominantly covered with brownish-red feathers, with subtle stripes across and down her spine of a darker shade; her belly and feet are greenish-brown, and her lower jaw is a pale yellow-green. Adorning her head, arms, and tail are feather crests of the same shade as most of her body, shading to a warm pink. Her eyes are light yellow and appear similar to an eagle's. The raptor shaman and necromancer Heart-in-the-Clouds as a ghost. Her form is the same, but her eyes are now glowing bright blue with equally bright yellow pupils. The rest of her is ashy grey and white, with no discernible pattern, and appears to be lit from a source perpendicular to wherever the main light source is. The raptor shaman and necromancer Heart-in-the-Clouds as an enlightened spirit. Her body is now predominantly a bright sky-blue with faint yellow highlights; her belly and feet are dark purplish-blue, and her lower jaw is a pure dark blue. Adorning her head, arms, and tail are feather crests of the same shade as most of her body, shading to a flaming pinkish-orange. Her eyes are pink with orange pupils, her teeth and claws are a pale crystal blue, and the inside of her mouth is vibrantly red. She seems as though she might glow in the dark. The raptor shaman and necromancer Heart-in-the-Clouds as a powerful revenant. She is predominantly black, with bright red stripes across and down her spine; her belly and feet are brown, and her lower jaw is greyish-white. Adorning her head, arms, and tail are feather crests of the same bright red as her stripes, shading to white. Her eyes are completely black. There is something distinctly off about the way she is lit.

Habasi-ko, a Khajiit woman with brown fur and black cornrows, is petting the head of her daughter Ma'chirisa, a Khajiit child with leopard-like fur. Habasi-ko is wearing a red coat with cream trim with a white undershirt and red pants; she wears no shoes, having a digitigrade posture. She has a black and silver nodachi on her back. The Snow Elf archaeologist Faire Agarwen, in her usual work outfit of a blue shirt with a leather bib and metal pauldrons, black pants, and tough leather boots, is facing Saoirse, a Forsworn woman with bright red hair and green facial tattoos wearing light hide and fur armor. Saoirse is sitting flat on the ground, staring up at Faire in shock; the bow she must have been holding is lying on the ground next to her, only barely still in her hand. Faire is standing, poised as usual, seemingly equal parts amused and cross; one arm is outstretched to the side, as if she's giving this relative child a stern talking-to.

Faire Agarwen, a 4000-year-old Snow Elf who currently works as an archaeologist bc she knows where the good stuff is buried. Also the true Dragonborn, a fact which would make many, many Nords have an immediate stroke if they knew. For the safety and sanity of...a lot of people, she keeps a low profile for now, quietly doing her research and tracking down Word Walls and dragon burial sites in the name of "archaeological study". Rukiah Aden, newly minted Vigilant of Stendarr who got thrown right into it when the Hall was attacked around the same time she was supposed to go back to Cyrodiil. Yes, that is Auriel's Bow, and yes, her ring matches Demyx's. Their three-sided battle against Harkon is the stuff of legends; no matter how much she tries to downplay her role, she was the one who fired the killing shot. Saoirse McMadden, Reachwoman, Forsworn, Speaker under the Listener Miralyn, and the biggest lesbian in Tamriel. That said, she has no compunction about flirting with men in order to manipulate them. She knows how good she looks, and how dense men are. The love of her life is one Muiri of Markarth, to whom she gave the head of her asshole ex in a bag as a romantic gift. Muiri loved it. Demyx is *formerly* a lot of things, including "from a different game franchise entirely", but he's nothing if not adaptable. Most recently he was an apprentice to the Greybeards, until he decided he had to rejoin society and get hands-on again by way of joining the Dawnguard. Right now, he's serving as a decoy Dragonborn to keep everyone's focus off of Faire; the people of Skyrim are much more enthusiastic about a young Cyro-Nord Dragonborn than they would be about a millennia-old Snow Elf dragonborn.

Today on "I had to see this and now so do you": found decorating a perfectly sensible article on polishing Petoskey stones, some images of "Petoskey stones" generated by an AI.
A rock-like object, set in a concrete-like matrix, with a highly polished texture; there is a bubble-like shape in the center, from which radiate a seeming spiderweb of rock in which multiple pebbles are entrapped. The smaller surrounding rocks have vaguely similar patterns, only without any bubbles and generally asymmetric and random. They were identified as Petoskey stones. They are not Petoskey stones. They're not even in the Petoskey stone uncanny valley. They are the stone equivalent of the Jersey Devil. A collection of water-rounded stones, polished to a high gloss (except one or two that are more of a semi-gloss). Some of them fall within the Petoskey stone uncanny valley, but they would be quickly dismissed at second glance. A picture of water-smoothed rocks, mostly polished to a high gloss, generated by an AI that has at least been fed an image of a real Petoskey stone. Roughly half the rocks are within the uncanny valley, and some would warrant picking up for closer examination. These are the Slendermen of Petoskey stones. Real Petoskey stones tell horror stories about them. Multiple rounded stones sitting on a black worktable with wood edging. Focus is very clear in the center and deteriorates towards the edges. The stone in the center looks like a locust leaf fossil; some of the others have roundish, dished shapes like crinoid stem sections. Two of the faux-crinoids have a convincing-when-blurred Petoskey pattern.
