Please join us this Saturday, February 22nd at 9:00 a.m., for our Tremont Towpath Urban Bird Walk to explore the towpath through the Scranton Flats area. Notable sightings from last month include Canvasback, Redhead, Common Goldeneye, & Ruddy Duck. Let's see what the area has to offer us this month!

Eleven brave birders showed up during a lake effect snow warning for the field trip at West Creek Reservation on January 4, 2025. As we gathered in the parking lot we saw six Common Loons flying overhead... according to eBird this is a new species for the hotspot! We also had a beautiful Merlin.

The 2nd Saturday Bird Walk at the Rocky River Nature Center on 1/11/2025 produced 33 species. The regular winter species were present, but we had several highlights: a Barred Owl perched in a conifer, a Northern Flicker feeding on Poison Ivy berries, a Brown Creeper, Winter Wren, and Swamp Sparrow.
