My interpretation was that 'timeland' is the endless feeling Melbourne lockdowns. 'Laminated Denim' is an anagram of 'Made In Timeland' and the album marks the culmination of a goal that had been endlessly delayed due to the pandemic.

Hi, I appreciate the enthusiasm, but would you consider deleting this? Its now in the way of the recommendations. If you want to promote the link thats fine, maybe do it in a comment? My intention was to keep the recommendations here on Bluesky. FYI this source is out of date.

Absolutely! 2017-2019, and 2022 albums are among their cleanest (particularly Polygondwanaland IMO). Paper Mache Dream Balloon and their other metal album Petrodragonic Apocalypse... also might stand out a bit. But yeah sometimes they totally mess with how it will sound for the fun of it.

Experimental DIY recording has always been one of their tenets, probably applies to your two examples the most as well as Nonagon and everything else before IIYMF. Can certainly be grating but perhaps reading up on how each was made/what they were going for might help?

Does it happen with any other records? You might want to check your stylus condition/tonearm balance.
