An aging man, happy husband, confirmed agnostic, and struggling writer with questionable talent.
After recent book events, I've put up more shelves. Thank you, Framingham Public Library and Westport Library, for the remarkable work you do, and thank you to all the authors who attended #spooktasticbookfair and #StoryFest! You folks rock!

In the audience of a Tremblay event was a guy with a sunny disposition. He signed a book for someone and I noted the name Edenville. I've met Sam twice more and read two fantastic works. He's also been a tremendous help as I try to string words into story. Cheers to another trip to Renfield!

StokerCon is done, and we enjoyed the heck out of it. Got to spend time with my heroes and make some new friends. Horror people are the best people.

If you're in Stamford for Stokercon and hungry for lunch, Cwispy Chkn is pretty darn good, and the woman behind the counter was awesome.

An uncomfortable, darkly satirical examination of our obsession—and eventual possession—with media, whether it’s 24-hour news channels, self-help gurus, viral videos, or chasing likes on social media. The world is coming unhinged. It feels like the zombie apocalypse. Clay captures it in vivid color.

Small book haul. Two I've read and are excellent. Coup de Grace, I'm hearing great things about.

A small but important Christmas book haul.

I have many writerly gifts to share, but this one takes the cake. Words of encouragement from four fantastic authors: @rebelsam94.bsky.social, @claymcleod.bsky.social, @johnlangan.bsky.social, and @paultremblay.bsky.social. Thank you all, and special thanks to my wife, Sarah, for orchestrating this!

Edenville is a rollicking cosmic horror and one heck of a good time. Equal parts creepy, hilarious, and irreverent. If you haven't read @rebelsam94.bsky.social, give him a try.

So many great authors! Why am I not reading this right now?

I'm always amazed by Cassandra's prose and the visceral feel of their writing. This tale seems to be an intentional riff on the traditional haunted mansion story. But it's so creepy and so much fun, and Cassandra brings their own unique perspective.

I'm happy that my first Bluesky post is about Black Sheep by @rachelharrison.bsky.social. It's got it all: cynicism, fanaticism, social angst, mother issues, father issues, and a small-town community that's deep into that old-time religion. You can never go home again, and maybe you shouldn't try.
