Muse starting the ORV audiobook has inspired me, and so when I checked the bookstore for my class books (which they did not have) I also picked up this one.

Gonna read this fucker in the original language. I bet Dokja is gonna be even MORE sassy than in the fan translation!

This seems a good time to bring this back.

Sometimes, I think about how the account status Shen Qingqiu managed to achieve in all that time was still only "beginner level."

I have a theory that actually, for this whole run, the System stayed on "Easy Mode." It wasn't just for Shen Qingqiu's first quest, but his whole first attempt at fic.

My living room has become extra sparkly now that the tree is up.

We never even put any presents under it, nor are we Christian...

...I just believe that hard in embracing sparkly, colorful decorations during a time of dark and cold.

I am once more thinking about how brooding to the left is a significantly different mood from brooding to the right.

An excerpt from a real conversation about romance novels with broody male leads, from a very long time ago.
"That makes sense. Anyways, I like that series." "So do I, it's hilarious. Definitely broody male leads, though." My sibling is obviously confused. "What's a Moravian Dark One?" "It's like a vampire, only Broodier," Lauren explains, then begins to demonstrate, placing the back of her right hand against her forehead and looking woebegone. "Oh no, I'm eternally damned, I should brood about it! No, wait, I'm tired of brooding with that hand..." she switches to resting her head on her left fist and scowling into space instead, "Brood! Broody brood! I'm so sick of brooding alone..." She clasps her hands together and looks enlightened, "I know! We could brood together!" I laugh. "That about sums it up. It's great... completely hilarious." I pause, then I realize something important. "Oh dear god... we've accidentally invented a new classification for romance heros! Think about it! There's the internal mad at oneself woe-is-me why can't I find love kind of brooding, which broods to the right and covers the eyes, and there's the external mad at the world or the woman who dumped me or the parent who never loved me type brooding, which is to the left with a fist and a gaze that's directed outwards. It's instant visual code for what the underlying problems of the hero will be in a book!" Lauren laughs and agrees, my sibling Jen looks suspicious but amused, and the conversation turns to Regency romances, our first love in romance. My sibling begins to describe the plot of a Kasey Michaels book, saying that a gentleman's criteria for a wife are deemed unhelpful by his friend, who decides to send him a female with a problem to be solved on the theory it will make him stop brooding. Lauren interjects, "Does he brood to the left or to the right?" "To the right," Jen answers, after a pause for consideration. "See?" I say, "It works! And the really broody ones... they're so broody they brood with BOTH HANDS!"
