A person overly concerned with books. Stories published in Translunar Travellers Lounge, We're Here 2021 (Neon Hemlock), Strange Machines (Apex), Nature Futures.
It gets better with repetition, and then you can fondly think "John Brown's sword!" periodically as you turn to other things.

I hope you get to enjoy it as much as I do!

I will say my quality of life is notably improved by seeing how far Seattle is willing to go to vandalize AI ads on the street. I have never walked past a pristine one.

I logged in at midnight even though I try to make sure the internet doesn't exist for me after midnight, so I could score a cat banner. Very excited.

Mine is a whole drawer and I don't show it to people because their follow up question is usually "and you use all that?"

We have their food now but somehow they are not grateful. Big "ugh, finally you went out and hunted cans" demeanor in this household.

Except that taking time off work tends to crater people's earning potential, so if you stay in the industry, by the time your kids no longer need fulltime care you will be further ahead in your field, leading to a bigger economic cushion in the future.

Looks like I'm hoarding my entire life here.

Even with the scolding about how we aren't good consumers aside, every "new" phone is rolling out a bunch of new AI features that are going to be borked a year from now. Why buy unless you absolutely have to?

They're just staring at me like I can turn kibble into fussie cat tuna and salmon with goat milk (I cannot).

(we have plenty of other cans, she just thinks they're disgusting, plus these two have delicate constitutions and puke like we've poisoned them if we transition food too quickly like we have no choice about now.)

She just tried to exit the apartment so she could hunt cans on her own power.

I love them

I'm still not over the fact that they just decided she'd be the perfect West Coast editor despite (confused hand gestures).

I don't know and I'm not really sure I want to understand

One year I took a flight where someone had dropped a baggie full of sliced cheese under the seat. I meant to grab and toss it but forgot.... And a week later I realized I was on the same plane home because it was still there, only green now.
