If you want to draw comparisons between the US and CDA, POTUS is the head of state whereas the king is ours. That leaves our only legislative assemblies as the house of commons and the Senate. USA has 3 bodies that can propose legislation: POTUS, Senate, and the house. Frankly, I prefer the CDN way.
