Watching “Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End,” a Spanish zombie flick. It hits all the expected beats, but something about its low-intensity depiction of the end of the world makes the whole seem more realistic and egregious. Plus, the cat is fab.

Currently watching Tartovsky’s STALKER and I’m stunned that it—despite carrying all that art-house baggage—is so goddamn involving. Its mysteries are immersive and, I’m guessing, not easily solved.

As neither a fan of religious, pregnancy, nor prequel #horror movies, I was pleasantly surprised by THE FIRST OMEN. It felt like something original, not a rehash or cheap sequel. And if I wasn’t fully emotionally invested, I also wasn’t bored; I had to cover my eyes; and I screamed twice. 👁️👄👁️
