I once was camping in a western WA campground one night and was freaked out by the crazy, eerie sound I kept hearing in the middle of the night. Soft and airy, but somehow “loud”. Later that week i checked some bird sound sites that helped me deduce that it was baby barred owls begging for food.

You could probably glean a lot of techniques watching a livestream of Theo Browne. You can see him often redoing lines he messes up.
