I've given Motion a try for the past few days.
Been a great experience so far.

I like how multiple agendas are combined.
How the app solves for the: what now question.
How it keeps you on track with your priorities.

Would be great to have some guest seats though.

I hope the Cloudflare change making bots/AI crawl content an opt-in upsets the content market. That it gives content creators the market leverage they need.

That quality content and adding value somehow gets rewarded again and becomes the new standard.

Tired of the algo gaming and clickbait […]

I there a place where you can browse fediverse servers to possibly join and where you can read their policies?

Had no clue where my first #solarpunk read, A Psalm for the Wild-Built, was going but kept reading.

The insightfult conversation at the end made it worthwhile and all in all a good read.

It’s good to have a symbol for the #fediverse you can type. The asterism is such a symbol ⁂

Sucks you need to copy and paste from a source.

It also has no real functionality yet like the @ and #. It probably needs functionality to becoma a real thing.

What does #fediverse gate keeping look like?

I saw some “you are/they are late to the party and can’t have a say” and “we need to keep things as they are” posts regarding the Asterism ⁂

If the Fediverse is to become relevant a lot of people are going to be ‘late to the party’. And they are […]

Writing is learning what you think.

This realization rekindled my enthusiasm for writing after years of deleting blog and posts. It's now exciting and enjoyable to write, publish, and respond to others' content. It's becoming a source of energy rather than a drain.

This is why I'm writing […]

People leaving #twitter/X in waves when something impactful happens is a good thing.

When do other centralized platforms follow?

There are good alternatives for microblogging, and I know there are alternatives like #pixelfed, but I’m not seeing massive migration from #instagram or #tiktok […]

Algorithms you don’t own are not aligned with you, they are aligned with the company that owns it.

I wasn't active on X anymore, but it's good to see it’s time for that account can be deleted.

Before I delete my X account, I'll make sure to download and remove all my posts. Of course, Uncle Elon can probably still keep them somewhere for Grok, but still.

Now, waiting for the fediverse to […]

aw that @theverge.com had posted an article about Deadlock. And that while there was a request not to share anything about it.

The author did not accept this request by pressing the ESC key instead of OK.

Comments are clear: not okay.

And if you are afraid that others will publish because […]

Starting to build a Zettelkasten-system again for writing.

Failed hard in my first attempt 5 years ago when I tried to do to much with it. I did not understand the goal and real functionality.

But sometimes you need to have experience with a concept before you actually start to understand it […]

I'm in search for hope of a better web.

I feel trapped in the current centralized platform focused media landscape and I need to know there is something better beyond this.

I'm going to share this journey and search for hope on: https://www.wardgeene.com/

Interested in what people are […]

Been of Mastodon / Fediverse for a couple of weeks. Was trapped in the prisons of centralized platforms.

1 day back and already a so much better experience.

Love the engagement on here. Hope to find more subjects where I can contribute a bit myself.

TIL about the existance of the Solar Punk genre and the idea of a future where energy is an abundance and the ability to recycle earths resources as the most noble thing to do.

I like the optimism of it compared to the distopian SF versions of the future. Curious about great reads in the genre […]

I’m looking for interesting blogs, podcasts, single listens, long reads on the fediverse and developments.

Or anything else related to open social / content publishing and is akin to the fediverse.

For the first time in my life I’m reading a film production handbook. Should’ve done this 3 years ago.

What a weekend. I’m completely floored and had 0 energy to post anything anywhere.

As Streamdoctors we produced the livestream for the Dutch All-Round Gaming Championship. As always there are different roles to play for me during a production. One was show caller. Another gameplay director.

I started out a bit skeptical listening to the All-In podcast, but I really like the in-depth expertise in different areas this group has.

While it’s at times a bit too upper class and disconnected for my taste, the insights are great. I also love how they explain things to each other.

Some…

While listening to the All-in podcast episode 179 about the new Open AI’s GPT-4o model there was an interesting insight.

It covered the need for a product developer to think about where an AI model ends and where your product begins. With the rate new models enter the market, you don’t want to…

It was 3 years ago I first came in contact with the concept of a digital garden. Since then I wanted to create a public place for myself to create. Short notes and longer posts. Not with the interest of viewership, but for self expression.

From digital garden I fell into the rabbit hole of the…

I’ve been trying to change the DNS records of a custom domain so it shows my micro.blog at that domain, but no luck yet. Hopefully it’s just the time it takes for the DNS records to change. If not, I’ll give it another try tomorrow.

It has been a blast reading up on the fediverse. It revitalized my need to publish. Not on a ‘walled garden’ platform, but on my own terms.

This research brought me in contact with so much more. Like the indieweb and the idea of POSSE: Publish (on your) Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere. I heard of…
