y'all this is not ok. going to people's AO3 and leaving comments with slurs and insults bc of the tarot deck thing is another level of unhinged. no matter how upset you feel, its inexcusable behaviour. and same thing with whoever's running that burner account.

y'all MSF was never even going to receive the 60K + bucks. there was the amazine cut and then also the production cost. also, as far as i know, MSF works with healthcare and not providing meals. And they're also one of the BIGGEST charities in the world. they'll be fine.

if anything's to learn from this is if you don't have experience doing things, don't go all fucking out at once. one of the mods admitted that most of them had never done smthg like that and look how it turned out. start small. digital zines exist for a reason.

yeah sorry but every other zine’s contributors pushed back on their mods when they learned about amazine. this was predatory and downright dangerous for fandom and they all just shrugged and went “meh.”
i hate to say it but this is the best outcome. at least people get their money back.

responses to the bg3 tarot situation really have me thinking about the difference between someone being NICE and being responsible/ethical. just because a project mod is a nice person to you doesn't absolve how they handle management of the role they volunteered to fill.
