It should read INVICT IMP but both mine and the reddit one reads INOI(damage)T T IMP.

The obverse should read IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II but both read AE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II.

So we either have contemporary copies of Severan Denarii (fairly common) with identical damage (unlikely) 2/3

Ankylosaurus, because who doesn't like a walking armoured tank with a big hammer tail (also because my 7 year old sister-in-law loves telling people how to pronounce the name properly!)

If it isn't what's my favourite dinosaur it's usually what's my favourite find, why did people bury their houses, why do they leave behind so many bones. Kids often come up with the most direct and sometimes curveball questions, I love it!

Yes apparently there is a small pipe which is unconnected to the well on the property. Going to post more over on the KAS page

Would it be deep enough for an ice house? It was apparently buried under 7 tons of soil. Odd piece of machine cut bone probably not associated?

Thinking possibly some form of butchery drain?

Welcome to the fun side!

It's a real challenge, especially when it comes to publishing information on historic archives where legal title was never discussed, landowners passed away, or permissions not given!

But have faced similar challenges of no transfer of title (despite my best efforts), reluctance from landowners & worries from community groups about site security etc. It's a tricky balance to find. 2/2
