Not sure that saying he was the only one keeping the offense afloat in the second half this year helps your argument. Also, he really only had one bad month this year, and it was July as you said. His sOPS+ was at or above lg avg every other month.

2. He’s had 3 of the top 10 oWAR yrs by a LF in MLB since 2020
3. That’s something to blame papa Ricketts for, but even so he’s been worth surplus $$ value every year of his career

That’s the point I was making about OAA, PCA’s amazing but he also missed three 99% catch probability fly balls resulting in -3 OAA. I can’t find the clip, but at least one of those was when the wind was swirling at 30mph.

I’ll probably regret this, but what is it about him you hate? Statistically he’s a bargain at the price they have him at. By FG’s $$ metric he was worth $3.5mil in surplus value. Is he an annoying presence locally? I’m in Sacramento so I literally only see the games & stat lines, and he’s fine.

Happ is the best-fielding LF in the NL, by any metric or Statcast data, and it’s not particularly close. He should win the GG easily. LF as a group are all godawful, he’s just the least-bad. They should go back to awarding three CF the GG.
