It was very easy to fall into the trap of just agreeing with their narrative to make life easier and stop the arguing.

I say yes. I think imposing term limits will force those guys to think of their legacy, prepare their succession and exit honorably. However, I think making recall petitions more widespread and institutionalized is more democratic.
