There are reasons I’m still Catholic. Pope Francis is one of them. He wrote a sweeping letter to the U.S. bishops decrying "major crisis" triggered by Trump's mass deportation plans & explicitly rejecting Vance's attempts to use Catholic theology to justify the Trump regime immigration crackdown.

Today I remember & honor social activist, journalist, & Catholic Worker co-founder Dorothy Day who died 44 years ago (Nov 29, 1980). There are more than 180 CW communities worldwide committed to active nonviolence, nuclear disarmament, alternatives to war, & pursuit of a more just social order.

My little guy Rocket rescued us 2 1/2 years ago. He’s still learning how to be a dog after being bred at a puppy mill for 5 years but his barks are sounding more like barks now and less like quacks.
