Minimalism is aggressively city-minded (I say “city” bc it’s seen anywhere from NYC to Tokyo, where capitalism reigns)— it’s time-saving & low-effort. Things like cottagecore are either overwhelming or appealing only in concept to the city-minded bc a lot of invisible upkeep goes into maximalism.

I’d say “if only we knew” but we’ve Scooby-Doo’d the culprit as insecurity-driven narcissism built by a fearmongering, misogynistic system of capitalism that strips White Men of their empathy (or calls them Gay if they manage to keep it) & uses the rest as tools to keep the Oppression Machine oiled

This post is a direct result of my old man reading a passage about mycelial networks in a Dean Koontz book and presenting it to me as if it were something new and profound, like I hadn’t mentioned the literal same exact thing multiple times before

It doesn’t always happen this way, but it happens enough for me to notice this pattern. As a fairly feminine-perceived entity, it shines a lot of light on how AFAB folks often struggle to find & make meaningful bonds in a society that devalues friendship & pushes for sex to be the Highest Goal.
