I finally defended my thesis! Thanks all! I started my PhD during covid! I am really grateful that my supervisor @sofievalk.bsky.social picked me to be her first PhD student when I was naive to neuroimage. I have been so lucky to stay in this happy and respectful academic environment so far!

Happy to share my last PhD work "Genetic, transcriptomic, metabolic, and neuropsychiatric underpinnings of cortical functional gradients". We used UKB, HCP, and QTAB to analyze the genetics of functional gradients. The results are so good, consistent, and inspiring! (1/3)

Finally, microstructural findings are not influenced by cortical thickness.

Fourth, we still show the anterior-posterior latent pattern by linking individual mental health to microstructural asymmetry scores, and a superior-inferior latent pattern by linking language to microstructural asymmetry scores.

Third, we explored the functional relevance! Coupling using group and individual data shows higher values in primary regions and lower values in association regions. The pattern emergence can be guided by both of them. In particular, function still works within functional communities.

Second, we found a consistent pattern in HCP using T1w/T2w data. It's correlated with age and sex. Using twin-pedigree, higher asymmetry is correlated with higher heritability. However, it doesn't vary across euiqvolumetric surfaces.

First, we mapped the BigBrain cytoarchitectural asymmetry across the cortex. It shows an overall anterior-posterior pattern, which varies across layers.
