I’m yet to resort to pure violence but I’m still pretty early on so not sure yet lol. Much like Undertale the game does seem to push you towards playing more pacifically so I’ll continue doing so until I hit a wall I think.

Oh and don’t be afraid to run from battles if you haven’t had a chance to add the enemy your fighting to your book yet. That’s about it from my few hours of play was also a little frustrated before I got the hang of the order of operations.

It also really helps to find the Olders empty carcass on the overworld as adding it to your book gives you a description of them with hints that aid in choosing the words in the right sequence

You have to string the words together in succession it’s rarely just spamming the same word from the 4 hours I’ve played. On the rare instance you’ll sometimes have to return to the original word as a sort of re-prompt before choosing another.

Robert Valley’s 400 boys in particular is one of those every frame is worth screenshotting episodes it’s phenomenal.

But for real it’s unfortunate how little of substance is in season 4 (the whole series really buts it’s incredibly apparent here) there’s genuinely only 2 episodes worth watching.

Unbridled joy for the sport of basketball in movie form it’s genuinely stellar. How often do you get an auteur making a love letter to their own work 20+ years later while also doubling as a directorial debut and it turning out to be as good as it is.

Hiei chases down and cuts a car in half I replayed this specific part like 8 times back to back.

Love these two goofballs so much man.

Above all else it nails the characters, their dynamics and what makes them so great in such a short amount of time.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews online harping on the pace and fair but the team behind it did a really good job considering they were only working with 5 episodes worth of wiggle room. So it opts to tell a semi-competent story using up until the original dark tournament arc as framework.

You could 100% watch it in isolation but it’d probably make certain things easier to understand if you watch the series first the movie is veeery quick paced. Plus the series itself is fantastic you’d probably enjoy the movie more with its added context.
