A comment from Reddit user GaiusOctavianAlerae It’s about indicating tone and register. Texting someone “hello” vs “Hello” vs “Hello.” can have different impacts. It’s not about laziness, by the way. Since people’s phones automatically capitalize the first letters of sentences they’re often going to extra effort to decapitalize things. I highly recommend Because Internet by Gretchen McCulloch for more on the evolution of language on the Internet.

I highly recommend visiting Kauppuri5 for a burger and some of their hot sauces!
It's a beast of a feast! This burger has blown up, the buns are gone and the salad is all over the plate. With the title "butcher's salad", it's the wheatless version of their perhaps most famous burger (the butcher). Ingredients in their own words: "Bacon, Beef patty, Over night braised pulled pork and roast beef, Cheddar cheese, salad bed with mustard vinaigrette, Red Onion, Kauppuri 5 BBQ Sauce". In the background, there's a small bowl of fries and an unassuming-looking but terrifyingly terrific dip sauce based on Naga Morich, a chili pepper that once held the world championship title on spiciness. Incredible and incredibly hot, even for a chili enthusiast! Served with a tasteful glass of IPA. The place looks a bit grungy, with hand-drawn art and signatures from people famous and ordinary scribbled all over the walls, and their outdoor sign has the motto "curing and getting hangovers since 2010". If that sounds like an experience you'd like to try, maybe visit Oulu?

it's me! my hair has been divided to the opposite direction than usual, making it tall and poofy. this pic is with my glasses on, wide rectangles it's me again! this pic is without my glasses, although you can still see the red indents on my nose where the pads of my glasses were. hair: still poofy!

Behind the scenes

A couple of photos from yesterday's walk
a small round window on a wall consisting of very narrow wooden panels. the panels are fastened with tiny nails, in fairly organic rows, waving up and down, and not always completing a full row a heavily rusted metal bollard next to the water at a harbor. only a few specks of the original yellow paint remain. the bollard has two arm-looking appendages. right next to the bollard, from between the cobblestones, a tiny plant is growing and extending its own branches. architectural photo. repetitive structures, abstract. square windows with large white panels. dark grey rectangular granite slabs at the bottom, with a diagonal tilt. the blue sky tones reflecting from the windowpanes is contrasted by the orange-brown wood details. architectural photo. widescreen crop. a total of 18 square windows in a six by three arrangement on a building wall, each with wide white panel margins between them and orange-brown wood details in their frames. there's a balance between the high structural symmetry of the building outside and the organic differences in what is showing in each window, both in the reflections as well as what is seen through the panes. the color palette consists of muted white, dark blue/teal, and an orange brown.
