Think of all of the young folks who got picked up by the police with a bag of weed or something and pulled a felony conviction - that's potentially life ruining. Think of foolish young men who think it'll be funny to shoplift a store and get caught.

You shouldn’t like her, or even celebrate her—you can cheer the action and not the person. We want to encourage more defections, not kid ourselves about who people are.

@mattyglesias.bsky.social how about a post where you do an honest reckoning with Labour's program under Karmer? On the surface, they are more or less exactly following the recommendations of Welcome PAC et al, so why not a thorough exploration of where your approach differs?

As someone studying to become a therapist, making it compulsory generally makes it ineffective. It can be transformative, but it requires intrinsic motivation. Making it generally available and encouraged would be great though
