Striving to contribute positively to the agriculture community I live and work in, as a farmer.
That’s the most comprehensive article I have read in the emissions.

Imagine buying fuel, like diesel, every week to run a noisy engine for many hours every day to generate expensive electricity, and every week you needed to go buy more fuel to burn

Or else, imagine you just collect the sunshine that falls on your roof and turn sunlight to electricity
(And no noise)

We have a BYD Seal and rooftop solar. We charged our car before Cyclone Alfred and when we lost power, we used our car to run our fridges, internet, lamps and power of mobiles. Had enough for up to 10 days.

Such a feeling of security in a storm. Batteries next (but check house insurance).

Kia EV5 Gav. Getting about 440km range. Bit of change of thinking required with Perth trips but nice bus to drive.

Renewable energy & associated downstream processing is a unique opportunity to improve
farm business resilience with a changing climate & diversify the rural economy suffering from rural decline as a result of farm scale increase & loss of services. Many Rural folk intuitively understand this.

We had a very large fire in the Corrigin region in 2022 - burnt 40000 hectares. I found myself in some very interesting situations. Watching this video took me back there.

Some fellow farmers think I am a regen farmer because we grow summer species for the summer gap for our sheep and cattle. Literally everything else I do is full mainstream. Very wary of pigeon holing farming systems as it just creates division and used by some for this purpose, unfortunately.
