Broadly, we have a fiction heavy main list, and non-fiction further reading

(I'll add in alt-text and list off the titles when I can!)

If you know someone suffering from Long Covid, reach out to them. Ask them how you can support them. Remind them they’ve not been forgotten. Wear a mask for them. They are counting on you. /end

Awesome! Love a search for utopia!

Fun!! Love an incidentally queer cast! I'll pop in a request for purchase at my library so more people can get their hands on it!

That sounds fantastic!! I'm gonna put in a request at my local library - if it doesn't arrive in time do you reckon it could work for a dystopia/utopia theme I'll be doing later in the year?

Yes!! I definitely see indie authors on the shelves (especially authors from Aotearoa NZ and some from Australia). I've noticed plenty of indie titles on our local Libby/Overdrive too

Yeah, it's been painful to look through, trying to find the best spread for our patrons and also knowing that the stats for traditional publishing of books by/about marginalized people is lower than it was a few years ago

I put together monthly reading lists / book groups as part of my job at a midsize community/public library and purchasing is limited to a handful of platforms :(
Id love if we were able to get in more self/independently published works but the system isn't big enough

👀 Is that The River Has Roots? My library system has a few copies on order and the cover is GORGEOUS, absolutely will shout this out too!

Bookmarking these too! Love a murder mystery!

Oh hell yeah! love that!

Thank you for the recommendations!! I think Black Sun is on the shelves of our library currently so that's really handy and I'll look into the others!!

oooh thank you! Unfortunately, we can only use traditionally published works for our lists but Monsters Only looks great and I'll be keeping an eye out for your release of Canvas of Scars for my own reading!
If your works go back up on Hoopla I can absolutely recommend them from there though!

Magic! Thank you! They update so frequently too, I'll definitely be using and recommending it going forward!

Thank you! We generally have to recommend traditionally published works but I'll absolutely be recommending and Whispers in The Dark is tagged bi and follows a vampire hunter? Adding that to my own list!

I hadn't heard of the The Afterward before but reading the blurb, it sounds fantastic! Thank you for recommending it!
We don't have it in our library system yet but I'll pop in a request and loop it into another months theme if it doesn't arrive in time!

Thank you for the recommendations! I've got Little Rot and Detransition Baby on my long list so far but somehow looked over This is How You Lose the Time War, I reckon it'd be a winner with our regular patrons!

ooh there's so much there! thank you!
