We need 1,000s of small buses linking residential areas with termini, rail stations in #Chennai, but there is a greater policy focus on protecting entrenched lobbies like autos. Local economy suffers as a result. People spend a lot on travel, leaving less for goods and services @chennai.bsky.social

It's unusual that @thelancet.bsky.social commission on urban design, transport & health in 2022 found 92.5% people in #Chennai having access to walkability, when lived experience is different. A reassessment is called for!
