Rosh Hashanah = New Year. Honey and pomegranates are everywhere. Likely lots of bagels in the freezer for next week.
Hanukkah revolves around a lot of potatoes. Fried in oil. Does your friend’s house smell like hash browns? Are the kids annoyed because they got socks or underwear?

I smell Winter in the air...
As bad as your day may be going, at least you’re not on the line with tech support while in a fighter jet, in the air, trying to figure out how to unstick the landing gear, at which point one of the troubleshooting steps accidentally crashes the plane (the pilot ejected, they’re fine)

Oh for sure! It's annoying sometimes when most of Dresden's problems would be immediately fixed if he was just open and honest with his peeps. I agree with you, though, that Butcher is a great writer.
