LISTEN: my cat is adorable
Also upon reflection, I’m 80% sure I went on this exact rant at my mom in 2009 after watching this part of season 2

Well you’re a pharmacist now so how bad could it have been, REALLY

There’s no way that any single one of Peter, Astrid, Olivia, or Walter on a lucid day could not go from start to finish on that logic train completely unaided once they knew all 3 of those facts
November 16, 2025 at 8:27 AM
Furthermore, there’s no way in hell that shapeshifter could have been Nina Sharp in those circumstances because she was in another goddamn city at the time
November 16, 2025 at 8:26 AM
1. The incinerator room had one entrance and Olivia found 3 things there: Charlie, alive; the shapeshifter nurse’s body; and the busted shifting device
2. They knew the body was the actual nurse, not the shifter
3. They knew the shifter couldn’t shift without the device

It could not be ANYONE else.

One of the weak elements of season 2 is the mystery of who the “missing” shapeshifter is. The way that scene played out and with all the evidence they had, plus the Fringe team’s average IQ of “lol fuck you”, they could have solved that one easily with logic instead of technology and shenanigans

That beginner level orgo was probably my favourite unit tbh. I was later told that organic chemistry at the more advanced level in university is Much Worse lol

At least when we learned about polymers in high school chem it was while making bouncy balls in the lab

Fringe cold open bingo:

- Person explodes
- Person is ripped in half by Something Feral
- Woman visibly takes a deep inhale before unleashing a Horror Movie Scream
November 16, 2025 at 6:01 AM
Has anyone ever gone through and counted how many cold opens on Fringe DIDN’T have a person exploding? Sometimes it feels like that number is smaller than its inverse

Nina’s truthful words in s1 can be counted on her one real hand

Walter literally set himself up for all this

Fuck William Bell

Fuck Broyles too honestly

Peter the hobbyist criminal is ironically one of the most honest characters in the show after Olivia. They build them different where he’s from
November 16, 2025 at 5:51 AM
Probably they decided to sit on it because it would have showed their hand with the end of season 1 earlier than they wanted. Instead they kept the hints super subtle until the back half of the season when they started turning the heat up. Top shelf scifi storytelling and I’m accepting no notes
November 16, 2025 at 5:48 AM
Ignore anyone who tries to tell you the multiverse plotline was an asspull from later in production, too, because there’s a deleted scene in episode SIX of season 1 where Peter mentions Walter’s theory of alternate universes. They filmed that in the FIRST block of production and then held it back.
November 16, 2025 at 5:46 AM
There are very few shows on network TV stuffed with as many chronic liars as Fringe had
November 16, 2025 at 5:37 AM
ALSO I have spent the past 24 hours since I remembered Peter’s whole thing just repeatedly being assaulted by the fridge horror of all those little asides between him and Walter in s1

How every single time, Walter was being forgetful but not like we thought, and then he would lie to cover the error
November 16, 2025 at 5:36 AM
Back to the show: FUN FACT Kevin Corrigan has always been one of my top of the leaderboard “I can’t explain how but he’s doing it for me” crushes so his Fringe storyline entertained the shit out of me

I was so preoccupied I didn’t even notice they hadn’t told me a size, so they thought I’d just walked off without explanation. So I put the shoes on the counter like, well… try those. They were indeed the right size.

Free magician at the bowling birthday party, hey hey 🪄
November 16, 2025 at 5:17 AM
I never thought too hard about that skill till one busy Saturday at work: a couple brought their kid in to join a birthday party late and came to the counter like “he needs bowling shoes” and I went “okay” and went and got them rq. They were staring when I came back and I didn’t know why
November 16, 2025 at 5:17 AM
Watching Sam Weiss the bowling alley proprietor eyeball Olivia’s shoe size reminded me how I did indeed used to be able to guess a kid’s shoe size almost exactly by how tall they were (it’s a little harder with adults than with growing kiddos)

Angry senator, to Agent Broyles: “The old X designation and your ‘Fringe’ investigations have been indulgences in the federal budget for over half a century!”

Mr Jones is real torn about this. Torn in half, even
November 16, 2025 at 2:00 AM
The other funny thing about how s2 of Fringe started was that Meghan Markle was in the first two episodes. I had erased her character from my memory because they I guess changed their mind about her, but watching it again now I went “wait wait is that-“

You could probably CLR it but you might take a layer of metal off it at this point, it’s possible the carbon residue is load bearing
November 16, 2025 at 1:02 AM
So literally a normal bugs bunny scene
